One of Forwardis’ oldest businesses is the transport of yellow phosphorus in tank containers from Kazakhstan to Europe and to the USA (via Rotterdam).
Considering the international context, the usual route from Kazakhstan to Germany - via Russia and Belarus - had to be revised. Forwardis took up the challenge of being the first railroad company to transport dangerous goods via the Caspian Sea route. The containers started in Kazakhstan and passed through four ports (Port Aktau in Kazakhstan, Port Baku in Azerbaijan, Port Poti in Georgia and Constanta in Romania) before successfully ending their journey in Duisburg, Germany.
Congratulations to the project team for this historic route, which is a first in Europe for RID goods crossing the Caspian Sea.
