FORWARDIS GmbH, a successful company of the SNCF Group specializing in international rail freight forwarding, is currently looking for a motivated Rail Logistics Specialist (m/f/d) to join our Inside Sales department in Berlin Mitte.

Contract: Fixed-term (2 years) with option for extension
Location: Berlin Mitte
Scope: European & Asian customers and railway partners
Working hours: Full-time (40h/week)


Your responsibilities

Commercial tasks:

  • Support the Key Account Manager in handling customer requests (price inquiries to subcontractors/suppliers, pre-calculations, data entry, preparation of quotations)
  • Contribute to large-scale international logistics projects
  • Verify incoming invoices and allocate them within the internal cost center system
  • Issue outgoing invoices in accordance with contractual agreements
  • Handle customer complaints
  • Submit claims to suppliers (railway companies, wagon and container lessors, workshops, terminals, etc.)
  • Process daily customer requests in coordination with your manager and prepare offers

Operational tasks:

  • Direct communication with the internal block train management team responsible for ordering trains from railway companies
  • Organize required data and documentation prior to each transport
  • Manage and monitor single wagon/container shipments (track & trace)
  • Ensure regular and proactive communication with customers
  • Prepare transport documentation
  • Coordinate last-mile road transport with forwarding companies
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers

Your profile

  • A completed vocational training in freight forwarding, logistics, or office administration is an advantage, but not mandatory
  • Good command of Russian and English; German is a plus but not required (Chinese and/or an additional language such as French or Polish is an advantage)
  • Industry knowledge in freight forwarding, logistics, and ideally rail logistics is a plus
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Flexible, reliable, communicative, customer-oriented, and a team player
  • Structured thinking, decision-making ability, and resilience
