- NOT ENOUGH FOR A BLOCK TRAIN, TOO MUCH FOR A SINGLE WAGON
With a group of ten wagons three to four times a month, the required quantity of rapeseed oil does not correspond to the remaining capacity or the frequency of the regular freight lines between Germany and France.
- A JUST-IN-TIME SUPPLY
The plant is organised on a just-in-time basis to optimise production, but has limited storage capacity. The incompressible format of transport in groups of ten wagons using the SNCF's single wagon network, which is not designed for this purpose, does not allow much precision in terms of days of supply to the French plant.
With the flexibility of our ForwardNet single wagon network, we offer our customers the ability to run their transport operations on a regular schedule, allowing them to make adjustments throughout the supply chain.
DAILY LOGISTICAL COORDINATION
Since 2018, we’ve been managing a tailor-made logistics plan from shipper to consignee. Our dedicated team is in daily contact with the railway operations and marshalling yard managers to execute the transport of goods according to the factory’s needs, regardless of the available transport capacity. They collect all transport information and provide the factory with follow-up information to meet their needs.
In addition to a detailed knowledge of the capacities and capabilities of each of these companies, a large number of constraints pose challenges, such as the transport of empty wagons to the place of loading and the monitoring of the required loading times in Germany, etc., in order to anticipate the route and the expected delivery date in France.
