Commercial Excellence & Sales Operations Manager – Rail Logistics (m/f/d)

FORWARDIS GmbH, a successful company within the SNCF Group specialising in international rail logistics, is looking to strengthen its sales team with a Commercial Excellence Manager / Sales Operations Manager (m/f/d). In this key role, you will support the sales management in implementing the sales strategy, steer relevant KPIs, and drive the further development of our commercial activities. As a central interface between Sales, Finance, and Operations, you will make a significant contribution to the company's sustainable success. The position can be based in Berlin-Mitte or Frankfurt am Main.

Permanent full-time position:

  • Location: Berlin-Mitte or Frankfurt am Main (near the main train station)
  • Scope: European customers and railways
  • Full-time, 40 hours/week

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the commercial strategy of Forwardis GmbH in close collaboration with sales management, including budget planning, sales and acquisition planning, and key account strategies
  • Steer, analyse, and report on relevant sales and performance KPIs, and derive and track appropriate measures to achieve targets
  • Monitor revenue, margin, and forecast developments; identify optimisation potential and carry out reforecasting processes
  • Support the sales team in preparing and optimising offers, tenders, and customer solutions
  • Prepare and accompany strategic supplier and business partner discussions; ensure consistent assessment of quality, safety, and commercial performance indicators
  • Drive transparency and continuous improvement of sales processes, sales pipelines, and commercial reporting

Your profile:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent
  • Several years of experience in Sales, Commercial Excellence, Business Development, or Controlling — ideally in the logistics, transport, or rail sector
  • Sound knowledge of KPI reporting, sales pipeline management, and forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data-based analysis; basic understanding of contracts and commercial frameworks
  • Structured, precise, and independent working style with a strong results orientation
  • Analytical and strategic mindset combined with pragmatic execution skills
  • Strong communication skills and confident presence with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to provide professional support and collaborate effectively within a team
  • Fluent German and English (written and spoken); French is an advantage
