Operations Specialist (m/f/d) – Dispatch / Control Tower for International Rail Freight Forwarding

FORWARDIS GmbH, a successful company within the SNCF Group, specializes in international rail logistics and innovative transport solutions across Europe.

To strengthen our Blocktrain Operations department in Frankfurt am Main, we are looking for a motivated Operations Specialist (m/f/d) – Dispatch / Control Tower to join our team as soon as possible.

Contract Details

  • Fixed-term contract: 2 years, with the possibility of extension
  • Location: Frankfurt am Main (near the Central Station) or Berlin Mitte
  • Scope: European customers and railway operators
  • Working hours: Full-time, shift-based
    • Monday to Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
    • Maximum one weekend/public holiday shift per month (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Your Responsibilities

  • Organize, coordinate, and monitor train operations in cooperation with various national and international railway companies.
  • Provide customers with regular and proactive updates on the status of their shipments.
  • Monitor and dispatch trains and wagons using Track & Trace systems.
  • Prepare and review transport and freight documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations for the transport of dangerous goods (RID) across all organized shipments.
  • Manage our wagon fleet, including dispatching, damage management, and maintenance scheduling.

Your Profile

  • Experience in logistics or freight forwarding, ideally within the rail logistics sector.
  • Ideally, completed vocational training as a Dispatcher, Freight Forwarding Specialist, Railway Professional, or in a similar field.
  • Good command of German and English; an additional European language (e.g. French or Italian) is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • A structured, solution-oriented, responsible, and customer-focused approach to work.
  • Strong teamwork skills, flexibility, and the ability to perform well in an operational environment.
