FORWARDIS Brings EMU Trainsets Back on Track

FORWARDIS has successfully completed a complex international transport operation involving Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) regional trainsets manufactured by Polish rail producer PESA S.A.

The mission involved transporting two coupled trainsets from Poland to Bucharest, Romania, crossing four countries and navigating different railway systems, operational requirements and technical constraints.

What made this operation particularly challenging?

  • Technical complexity: EMU trainsets are self-powered passenger units that require specific solutions for coupling and traction compatibility.
  • Custom engineering: Dedicated adapters were developed to ensure a safe and reliable connection throughout the journey.
  • Tight timeline: The entire operation was prepared in less than one month.
  • Optimised operations: Locomotive changes were limited to two strategic border points, improving efficiency and reliability.

The successful completion of this project demonstrates FORWARDIS' expertise in coordinating complex international rail transports and developing tailored solutions for demanding operational requirements.

Thanks to close collaboration between our teams, railway partners and the customer's technical experts accompanying the transport, the operation was completed successfully, with zero technical incidents reported.

This achievement highlights the importance of technical preparation, cross-border coordination and strong partnerships in delivering reliable rail transport solutions across Europe
